On Saturday, April 28, 2018, the seminarians from the Fr. Juan McGuillivray, C.M., Formation House, along with Fr. Teodoro Justavino, C.M., hosted the very first Vocation Day 2018 in the Province of Coclé, Diocese of Penonomé. “Who are you looking for?” was the theme of the Vocation Day which was divided in two parts. First, the participants were invited to reflect on two questions “Who is Jesus of Nazareth?” and “What do you know about Him?” Then, the participants were asked to create a tree that would symbolize the Church as follows: The root representing the Holy Spirit; the trunk as Jesus Christ; the Church as the branches, with the leaves representing the diversity of charism in the Church, and how each one contributes to the expansion of the Kingdom of God. In this second part, the participants learned about St. Vincent De Paul and how his charism has contributed to the Universal Church.

The closing of this enriching experience for our Seminarians ended with the celebration of the Eucharist presided by Fr. Teodoro in the community of La Cuesta, Province of Coclé.

The missionary work in this province was initiated by Fr. Gregory Gay, C.M. some 28+ years ago, and although it is a diocesan parish, the roots of the Vincentian Charism run deep here.
